Y2系列三相异步电动机是Y系列三相异步电动机的更新换代产品，是一般用途的全封闭自扇风冷式鼠笼型三相异步电动机。它是我国九十年代设计的产品，其整体水平已达到国外同类产品九十年代初的水平，电机外壳防护等级为IP54或IP55，采用F级绝缘，温升按B级考核。该系列电机具有高效节能、启动转矩大、噪音低、结构合理、运行可靠、外形美观大方、安装使用方便等特点。
Y2系列电机的安装尺寸与输出功率等级符合国家标准GB/T 4772.1-1999（等同国际电工委员会标准IEC60072-1:1991），也与Y系列电机、Y3系列电机一致。该系列电机能效指标符合国家标准GB 18613-2006规定的Ⅲ级考核标准，根据客户需要，也可提升至Ⅱ级能效考核标准、或者国际电工委员会IEC 60034-30规定的IE2高效标准。
Y2系列电机广泛应用于国民经济各个领域，如机床、水泵、风机、压缩机、减速机等用于驱动各种通用机械设备，也可适用于运输、搅拌、印刷、农机、食品等各类不含易燃、易爆或腐蚀性气体的场合。

Dimensions andrated output of Y2 series motors arein conformity with international standard IEC 60072-1:1991, so does Y series motors and Y3 series motors. While efficiency class of Y2 series motors are in accordance with Chinese National standard GB 18613-2006 classIII, on request of the user, we supply Y2 series motors in line with IEC 60034-30 High Efficiency standard (IE2) as well.
