Gases with different moisture content will condense on the mirror at different temperatures. Using photoelectric detection technology, the dew layer is detected and the temperature during condensation is measured, which is directly displayed. The methods of mirror refrigeration include semiconductor refrigeration, liquid nitrogen refrigeration and high pressure air refrigeration. The mirror dew point meter adopts the direct measurement method, which can be used as a standard dew point meter on the premise of ensuring the accuracy of dew detection, mirror refrigeration rate and accurate measurement of dew condensation temperature. The international high accuracy reaches 0.1℃ (temperature), and the general accuracy can reach within 0.5℃.
露点仪是一种可以直接测量湿度的仪器。让一面镜子在样品的潮湿空气中冷却，直到镜子上出现露珠(或冰晶)，测量镜子的平均温度，即为(霜)温度。
可以简单理解为气体中水蒸气含量达到饱和时的温度，是气体湿度的表达方式之一；可以看出，温度是测量气体含湿量的单位制。分析仪是基于这一单位制测量气体中水分含量的仪器。

露点仪的湿度测量精度高，但需要高光滑度的反射镜、高精度的温度控制系统和对露珠(冰晶)高灵敏度的光学检测系统。使用时，吸入样气的管道必须保持清洁，否则管道中的杂质会吸收或释放水分，造成测量误差。
